Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School is launching a new journal: Something on Paper is a biannual online poetics journal of scholarly utterance and conversation, archiving the critical work of the Jack Kerouac School as well as engaging with a broader community of writers, critics, and pedagogues. Each issue hosts cutting-edge literary/multimedia discourse and performs the liminal space between critical and creative texts. Our aim is to document the praxis of poetic exchange.
Editors Michelle Naka Pierce and J’Lyn Chapman cordially invite you to submit work. We are looking for the following in text, audio, and/or video:
• Chap & book reviews (micro and macro)
• Articles on topics of current poetic/literary/pedagogical interest
• Lyric essays, innovative criticism, and experimental critical discourse
• Multimedia essays
• Roundtable discussions
• Scholarly work crossing the boundaries between the critical & creative
We are also looking for critical writing on Lyn Hejinian’s My Life as well as her other works.
Something on Paper does not publish creative work unless it is the subject of scholarly dialogue or exchange.
Reading period: November 1–30, 2012.
