Bhanu Kapil: on narrative and diaspora

bhanu approved
Bhanu Kapil will be giving a talk on “Ban” — [“What is Ban?” A short talk on narrative and diaspora] — as part of an international conference on narrative taking place next week in Vancouver and sponsored by Capilano University. New work — excerpts from “Notes from a novel not yet written: Ban” — are also published in The Caplino Review; these excerpts are an “initiating text” of the symposium, to which three panelists (Gail Scott, Alex Leslie and Ashok Mathur) will respond. Bhanu will also be teaching a workshop inspired by one she has taught at Naropa: “Art is of the Animal.” She will also be giving a public reading.
