Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Adam Perry studied poetry at the University of Pittsburgh with Toi Derricote, Barbara Edelman and Lynn Emanuel before moving to San Francisco for several years to work as a touring rock drummer. From 2008-2009 he studied writing and literature at Naropa University in Boulder, Colo., with Maureen Owen, Junior Burke, Jack Collom, Bhanu Kapil and others. Currently he lives in Portland, Maine, where he works as a freelance writer for several publications around the U.S.
