While we at CLMP are always keen to improve the digital know-how of our publishers, we believe it’s equally important to retain and even encourage a place for print publishing, and to help preserve the increasingly vital role that chapbooks and zines play in the literary community.
“Not since the 60’s have we seen this kind of interest in DIY publishing and it’s very exciting. Chapbooks and zines provide a publishing gateway for many of our most promising literary voices and an important alternative to mainstream, commercial literary publishing,” says our Executive Director, Jeffrey Lependorf.
This level of membership will provide, in addition to our long-running regrants and programs for all publishers,
a wealth of resources specific to DIY publishers:
- Focused technical assistance
- Free participation in chapbook festivals nationwide
- Access to a large and growing community of publishers who share the same values
- Facilitation of pooled resources that can help all these boats stay afloat and travel far
