JKS Weekly Soundcast #3!

Genelle Chaconas is a first semester MFA student at Naropa University, currently enrolled in the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Originally from Sacramento, California, she earned a BA in Creative Writing from California State University Sacramento; she has been published in their literary magazine Calaveras Station, and has been published in a number of other publications, including WTF, Brevities, Rattlesnake Review, Dope, Primal Urge, Six Foot Swells, and Late Peaches, an anthology of Sacramento Poets. She is the author of one chapbook Fallout, Saints, and Dirty Pictures published by little M press. She hosted the monthly poetry series “Red Night Poetry” in 2010-2011.

  1. Thank you for posting these, Genelle. I especially enjoyed your reading of crystalline lines of your poem for Patchen and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for bringing him into the conversation. Love “Sleepers Awake” – he’s an example to all of us to not give up and fall into despair – because there’s illumination waiting for us the other side (and if not, at least let’s grasp the illuminated moment that throws our souls into relief – catch a glimpse of em, ah!!!!).
