JKS Alumna Rachel Newlon Awarded Poetry Prize


Congratulations to recent JKS MFA graduate Rachel Newlon on winning the 2014 San Miguel Writers’ Conference Writing Contest!

newlon headshotRachel Newlon received her BA in English from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado and an MFA in Creative Writing from Naropa University. She has been published in various literary journals (online and in print) such as OVS Magazine, Up The River Journal, Bombay Gin, Volta, and Foothill: A Journal of Poetry. She currently teaches English Composition students at the Community College of Aurora and Front Range Community College. She has been married for 18 years, and has three amazing teenage boys.
